Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and customer agencies to address service or incident tickets, ensuring effective resolution.
- Develop scripts and workflows that automate administrative tasks, leveraging expertise in Python and additional scripting languages.
- Generate and communicate clear project estimates regarding time and resource requirements.
- Create training materials and documentation for end-users, equipping them with the necessary knowledge to utilize our applications effectively.
- Oversee all phases of development and maintenance for assigned applications and scripts under general supervision.
- Conduct research on system enhancements and carry out analysis and design of computer applications.
- Design, code, test, and document applications and scripts, providing production support for both simple and complex issues.
- Mentor junior team members when applicable, leading small to medium-sized projects or segments of larger initiatives.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- A proactive mindset towards learning and adapting to emerging technologies.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geography/GIS, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis.
- At least one year of experience working with scripting languages and APIs, including but not limited to JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Pandas, ArcPy, ArcGIS API, and PowerShell.
- A minimum of one year experience managing Microsoft SQL Enterprise Databases (v2016 ) and/or PostgreSQL.
- A solid two years of experience scripting with Python.
- Demonstrated ability in developing policies and workflows that facilitate collaboration, along with creating training and documentation for end users.
