Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with team members and external agencies to address service requests and incident tickets.
- Develop scripts and workflows aimed at automating administrative tasks, utilizing expertise in scripting languages, including Python.
- Communicate clearly by preparing and delivering precise estimates of project time and effort, while also creating comprehensive training materials for end-users.
- Provide oversight for the entire development lifecycle of assigned applications and scripts, researching potential system enhancements and conducting thorough analysis and design.
- Design, code, test, and document a variety of applications and scripts, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of production issues.
- If applicable, offer mentorship to junior team members and lead smaller projects or components of larger initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- A proactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging technologies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geography/GIS, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be accepted on a year-for-year basis.
- Minimum of one year of experience with scripting languages, APIs, and modules such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Pandas, ArcPy, ArcGIS API, PowerShell, and REST APIs.
- One year of experience with Microsoft SQL Enterprise Databases (v2016 ) and/or PostgreSQL databases.
- At least two years of experience in scripting with Python.
- Proven ability to develop policies and workflows for collaborative environments and to create training and documentation for end-users.
