Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with our organizational goals.
- Design, implement, and manage scalable data architectures, pipelines, and databases essential for the quantification of soil carbon removals.
- Oversee the collection, integration, and validation of data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy and integrity.
- Lead the creation of data-driven Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) solutions to monitor land management practices.
- Drive the development and deployment of advanced analytics and predictive algorithms to enhance carbon measurement and monitoring capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into our comprehensive carbon management platform.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that offer actionable insights.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in data science and environmental sustainability to identify innovative opportunities.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Proficient in data warehousing, ETL processes, and database management including SQL and NoSQL.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and big data technologies.
- Solid foundation in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
- Familiarity with GIS, remote sensing, and environmental data is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to convey complex data concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, data engineering, or a related field, showcasing leadership and innovation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; a PhD is advantageous.
- Experience in developing MRV systems for carbon projects is a significant plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is essential.
