We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our innovative team in a remote capacity. This pivotal role involves supporting our Enterprise Security Operations Center (ESOC) and Computer Security Incident Response Capability (CSIRC), ensuring the security and regulatory compliance of vital systems while safeguarding sensitive information across various government platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management and upkeep of critical security documentation, including privacy assessments and system security plans, while ensuring compliance with governmental and organizational standards.
- Conduct comprehensive Security Control Assessments (SCAs) annually for a portfolio of approximately 63 systems, meticulously evaluating security controls and addressing any identified issues to maintain compliance.
- Oversee the 24⁄7 operations of the CSIRC, actively monitoring and responding to security incidents, particularly those involving sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII), while training analysts in effective incident management.
- Develop and maintain a Cyberthreat Dashboard to present real-time cyber activity, enhancing visibility into emerging threats and bolstering the ESOC’s proactive defense strategies.
- Spearhead the Vulnerability Management Program by identifying security weaknesses and facilitating timely remediation to ensure the integrity of network systems.
- Monitor network activities to detect unauthorized actions and manage security tools to protect ESOC operations.
- Ensure the security of financial systems in compliance with applicable accounting and accessibility standards.
- Provide security support across a variety of applications and databases, ensuring adherence to government regulations and best practices.
- Extensive technical experience in senior IT management solutions.
- Proficient in building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools.
- Knowledge of government security and compliance standards, such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
- Expertise in cybersecurity incident handling, risk management, and vulnerability assessments.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of enterprise-level IT experience, with at least 5 years supporting extensive government contracts.
- Required certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Preferred certifications are Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 Foundation.
