Remote Senior Engineer - Security | WFH

Job Overview

Join our esteemed organization as a Senior Security Engineer, where your expertise in cybersecurity will be pivotal in safeguarding sensitive information across government platforms. This remote position allows you to work collaboratively with a robust team dedicated to maintaining the integrity of our Enterprise Security Operations Center (ESOC) and Computer Security Incident Response Capability (CSIRC).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and upkeep of essential security documentation, ensuring compliance with government and organizational standards.
• Conduct annual Security Control Assessments (SCAs) for approximately 63 systems, addressing any identified issues to guarantee full compliance.
• Oversee the 24⁄7 operations of the CSIRC, coordinating responses to security incidents, particularly those involving sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
• Create and sustain a Cyberthreat Dashboard to provide real-time insights into cyber activity, enhancing our proactive defense strategies.
• Spearhead the Vulnerability Management Program to identify and rectify security weaknesses, ensuring network integrity.
• Actively monitor network activity to detect unauthorized actions and manage security tools effectively.
• Safeguard the security of financial systems, aligning with accounting and accessibility standards set by the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO).
• Provide security support for various applications and databases, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and industry best practices.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong technical knowledge in senior IT management solutions.
• Experience in creating and managing dashboards or reporting tools.
• Familiarity with government security and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Expertise in cybersecurity incident management, risk assessment, and vulnerability evaluations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of enterprise-level IT experience, with at least 5 years supporting large government contracts.
• Required Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• Preferred Certifications: Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 Foundation.
