Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open-source technologies.
- Collaborate intimately with support teams, product engineering, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Engage with upstream communities by developing bug fixes and facilitating upstream patch incorporation.
- Review and uphold the quality of code produced by fellow engineers, ensuring high standards of deliverables.
- Effectively prioritize tasks and manage time to adhere to project timelines.
- Contribute to team discussions aimed at enhancing processes, tools, and documentation.
- Communicate clearly and concisely regarding technical issues and their resolutions.
- Be open to international travel (up to 10% of your work time) for meetings, events, and conferences.
- Professional experience as a Software Engineer.
- Strong expertise in Linux, with familiarity in technologies such as Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, or other cloud solutions.
- Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, C, or C .
- Experience with debugging tools like GDB and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Familiarity with Git and source code management.
- A proven history of successful problem-solving and system improvement.
- A degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related discipline.
- A demonstrated track record of success in software engineering roles.
- Willingness to travel up to four times annually for internal events.
