In this capacity, you will be responsible for executing Remote Logical Grooms of Transport circuits, ensuring a seamless transition from outdated to contemporary paths.

Job Overview

As a Remote Grooms Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our telecommunications infrastructure through meticulous circuit management and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Circuit Configuration: Pre-configure new circuit ports and create logical cross-connections.
• Testing: Conduct pretests on new logical circuit paths to verify their operational effectiveness.
• Collaboration: Engage closely with planners to address and resolve design discrepancies.
• Remote Grooms: Perform Remote Logical Grooms of Transport circuits, leveraging your extensive experience with diverse network equipment.
• Validation: Ensure successful completion of all grooms, confirming the absence of outstanding alarms—attention to detail is crucial.
• Troubleshooting: Apply your excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve any issues that may arise during the grooming process.
• De-provisioning: Safely remove old circuit paths and ports from service.
  
  

Required Skills

• Advanced troubleshooting capabilities
• Proficient knowledge of telecommunications systems
• Experience in logical grooming of transport circuits
• Familiarity with DWDM and IP grooming methodologies

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of experience in telecommunications
• Extensive knowledge of 3/1/0 cross-connect systems
• Familiarity with Central Office practices, network/circuit engineering, and circuit provisioning
• Demonstrated experience in circuit troubleshooting and de-provisioning
