Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive transmission system analysis utilizing industry-standard software such as PSSE or Powergem TARA.
- Develop and implement Python scripts to streamline and enhance analytical processes.
- Collaborate in modeling, simulating, and evaluating electrical power systems.
- Analyze and optimize the performance of power systems using linear sensitivity factors.
- Execute load flow, transfer, and contingency analysis among various system operators.
- Document findings and present methodologies and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Support ongoing initiatives and projects within the transmission analysis group, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Proficiency in PSSE, TARA, or other relevant power flow software.
- Strong skills in Python scripting for automation and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with linear sensitivity factors and power flow computation analysis.
- Completed coursework in advanced power flow analysis, fault-tolerant power systems, and power system transactions is essential.
- Knowledge of power system operations, planning, and reliability standards is advantageous.
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program focusing on Electrical Power Systems.
- Experience with data visualization and interpretation is preferred.
- An understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the power industry is a plus.
