Security Engineer - Remote @ Clifton Forge, VA | WFH

Job Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated Security Engineer to assume a pivotal role as the subject matter expert (SME) for our CrowdStrike deployment. This key position entails managing and optimizing our existing CrowdStrike installation, ensuring full utilization of its features, and facilitating the integration of new product updates.

In addition, you will be tasked with supervising the Tenable deployment for comprehensive vulnerability scanning throughout the organization, ensuring smooth integration of any new configurations. Your expertise will also extend to providing support for the M365 E5 Environment, multi-region Azure deployment, and various customer services.

Participation in an on-call rotation is part of this role, typically occurring once per month.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the SME for the CrowdStrike deployment, ensuring effective maintenance and feature implementation.
• Manage and configure the Tenable vulnerability scanning system.
• Provide support for the M365 E5 Environment and multi-region Azure deployment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot technical issues across various information systems.
• Operate independently to complete tasks while adhering to project deadlines.
• Create, install, modify, and test software applications across multiple platforms.
• Document all configurations and technical changes to facilitate seamless operations.
  
  

Required Skills

• Profound technical expertise in security engineering, particularly in vulnerability scanning and endpoint protection solutions such as CrowdStrike and Tenable.
• Preferred experience with M365 E5 and Azure deployments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with team members, clients, and technical experts.
• Capability to troubleshoot complex systems and resolve issues proficiently.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Comfort with on-call duties, scheduled once per month.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Previous experience in security engineering, specifically with CrowdStrike and Tenable, is highly desirable.
• Experience in M365 and Azure deployments is preferred.
