Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with diverse teams to define and oversee elements of system architecture and product development.
- Evaluate critical system trade-offs and suggest solutions that support high-performance, low-power, and superior-quality designs, including the integration of electrical and mechanical layouts.
- Lead the design of high-speed board-level electrical components, encompassing schematic capture, layout, power budgeting, and addressing signal/power integrity, EMC, and RF challenges.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to validate systems via various testing methodologies, including thermal, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and acoustic testing.
- Formulate and implement board-level hardware bring-up strategies.
- Create and manage manufacturing test plans at both board and system levels, collaborating closely with third-party vendors to design and validate test fixtures.
- Work alongside Mechanical and Optical teams to ensure designs align with mechanical constraints and camera module specifications.
- Engage with embedded firmware and application software teams during hardware design evaluations and debugging processes.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred) with a minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical hardware development.
- Proven track record in developing consumer products from initial prototype through to mass production.
- Hands-on experience in designing boards with application processors from Qualcomm, MediaTek, or NXP.
- Proficiency in high-speed board design involving interfaces such as MIPI, USB, DisplayPort, sensors, PCIe Gen 3⁄4, RF (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), HDMI, and Gigabit Ethernet.
- Strong capabilities in guiding layout requirements and conducting pre- and post-layout signal and power integrity simulations.
- Familiarity with audio/video devices, including microphones, speakers, and CMOS imaging sensors.
- Knowledge of compliance standards, including EMC, ESD, safety, RF, and environmental regulations.
- Experience utilizing electrical schematic capture and layout tools like Altium, OrCAD, and Allegro.
- Demonstrated ability to create and influence system specifications for electrical, power delivery, thermal, and physical requirements.
- Proven experience in collaborating with offshore OEM, ODM, and JDM partners on manufacturing processes.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced engineering environment and adeptly navigate real-time challenges.
- Excellent analytical, cross-functional collaboration, and communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
