We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our esteemed team, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security posture of our Enterprise Security Operations Center (ESOC) and Computer Security Incident Response Capability (CSIRC). Your expertise will contribute significantly to safeguarding sensitive information across various government platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and management of essential security documentation, including privacy assessments and system security plans, ensuring compliance with government and organizational policies.
- Conduct annual Security Control Assessments (SCAs) for approximately 63 systems, identifying and resolving issues to maintain full compliance.
- Oversee the 24⁄7 operations of the CSIRC, managing security incident monitoring and response efforts, particularly for incidents involving sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Develop and maintain a Cyberthreat Dashboard to provide real-time insights into cyber activity, enhancing the ESOC's proactive defense strategies.
- Spearhead the Vulnerability Management Program, identifying security deficiencies and driving timely remediation actions.
- Monitor network activities to detect unauthorized actions and effectively manage security tools to protect ESOC operations.
- Ensure the integrity and security of financial systems by adhering to accounting and accessibility standards mandated by the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO).
- Provide comprehensive security support for various applications and databases, ensuring alignment with government regulations and best practices.
- Strong technical expertise in senior IT management solutions.
- Experience in developing and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools.
- Familiarity with government security and compliance standards such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
- Proficient in cybersecurity incident handling, risk management, and vulnerability assessments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of enterprise-level IT experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to supporting large government contracts.
- Certifications:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - Required
- Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) - Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) - Highly Recommended
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 Foundation - Desired
