Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations, evaluations, and settlements of 1st party property claims, ensuring precise assessment of damages and losses.
- Analyze and interpret policy coverage to assess the extent of company liability.
- Collaborate with field adjusters, contractors, appraisers, and other professionals to verify accuracy in repair or replacement cost assessments.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, guiding them through a smooth claims process by clarifying coverage, next steps, and settlement offers.
- Negotiate claim settlements within defined limits and authority, maintaining a balance between customer satisfaction and company interests.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation of claims, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Stay informed regarding company policies, state regulations, and industry best practices pertinent to property claims.
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to resolve complex claims issues.
- Establish reserves, monitor them, and make adjustments as necessary based on claim progress.
- Manage in-house claims and oversee homeowners and commercial property claims handled by a Third-Party Administrator (TPA).
- 3 years of experience as a homeowner or commercial property claims adjuster/examiner or a related role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience within the insurance sector.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication capabilities.
- Proficiency in Xactimate and MS Office/Google Workspace applications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of property and casualty insurance, including policy interpretation and claims workflows.
- AIC, CPCU, or other pertinent insurance certifications are favorable.
