As an Associate Attorney, you will be entrusted with the management of post-death trust and estate administration cases, including probate matters, overseeing them from inception to resolution. Your responsibilities will include:
- Offering expert advice on trust administration deadlines, processes, and best practices.
- Drafting and preparing essential trust administration documents, such as notices, letters, deeds, and trust distribution agreements.
- Representing clients in remote probate court hearings and assisting with relevant court filings.
- Maintaining regular communication with beneficiaries, creditors, and other involved parties to manage expectations and provide updates.
- Supporting the founding attorney with the preparation of estate planning documents, with potential for increased involvement in this area.
- Collaborating closely with the principal attorney and other staff members to ensure high-quality service and client satisfaction.
- Maintaining availability during standard business hours (Monday through Friday, Pacific Time).
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:
- An active California Bar license in good standing.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Trust and Estate Administration and Probate (greater experience is advantageous).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the California Probate Code and local court regulations.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective client interaction and remote team collaboration.
- Keen attention to detail with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines concurrently.
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Trust & Estate Administration and Probate.
