Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Direct and oversee a team of Trust Officers and Trust Administrators, ensuring the delivery of outstanding service to our trust clientele while establishing and maintaining rigorous client service standards.
- Compliance Assurance: Guarantee that all fiduciary engagements are managed in accordance with trust agreements, as well as adhering to company policies and all relevant state and federal regulations.
- Business Growth Initiatives: Actively participate in new business development by responding to inquiries from financial consultants, third-party contacts, and private clients. Support New Business Officers and Case Management Officers in outreach and client engagements.
- Account Management: Manage a select portfolio of trust accounts and may represent or act as a substitute for the Chair of the Trust Committee or a Sub-Committee.
- Operational Management: Oversee the smooth onboarding of new trust accounts, ensure the timely provision of trust tax letters, and supervise annual administrative account evaluations. Address client complaints effectively and guide the timely closure of accounts and trust terminations.
- Special Projects Engagement: Participate in various projects or assignments as directed.
- Leadership Acumen: Exhibit confidence in team members’ abilities, effectively delegate responsibilities, and hold team members accountable. Demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and follow through on commitments while treating employees and clients with respect and upholding the highest ethical standards.
- Effective Communication: Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with keen attention to detail. Communicate confidently with clients, their legal representatives, and third-party professionals while actively listening to their needs.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in trust accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite. Ensure adherence to company information security policies and demonstrate ease in adapting to new technologies.
- Organizational Skills: Manage competing priorities, ensure project completion, and meet important deadlines without compromising quality or precision. Establish high expectations for time management.
- Judgment and Risk Management: Facilitate discussions about balancing competing interests among trust beneficiaries, make informed personnel decisions, and assess potential business development opportunities based on complexity and risk.
- Extensive experience in managing Settlement, Directed Trusts, and/or Wealth Management Accounts.
- Profound understanding of Settlement Trust negotiation and funding, trust planning, estate planning techniques, personal tax, and financial planning.
- A Bachelor's degree alongside ten years of experience in trust administration and a minimum of five years in a management capacity.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Strong conceptual skills to promote alternatives, define objectives, and manage through changes in organizational processes.
