Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive planning, conducting, and documentation of investigations into mortgage fraud allegations.
- Assess fraud risks associated with loan origination, underwriting, loan sales, and REO property servicing, ensuring meticulous research and analysis.
- Resolve discrepancies between reported fraud allegations and actual findings, employing in-depth data analysis to determine the necessity of further investigation.
- Create thorough reports and statistical evaluations in accordance with established guidelines, presenting your findings in a clear and logical manner.
- Monitor and evaluate investigative progress, adjusting priorities based on evolving goals, leads, and objectives.
- A minimum of 4 years of pertinent experience with a robust focus on mortgage fraud investigations.
- Expertise in financial fraud investigations, including the ability to analyze and interpret complex data accurately.
- Exceptional written communication skills for developing detailed, conclusive reports and summaries.
- Strong analytical capabilities to assess diverse information sources and quickly formulate conclusions or recommendations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively present findings and engage with management at all levels.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience in commercial multifamily fraud investigations or underwriting is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with external investigative tools such as Lexis Nexis, PACER, and RealQuest Public Records is advantageous.
- Proficiency in utilizing internal systems including FIMS, TAU, CU, and DUS360 is preferred.
- Prior experience in conducting interviews and analyzing evidence to substantiate fraud findings.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
