Key Responsibilities
- Assist with all facets of probate and estate administration from inception to conclusion.
- Support trust administration processes from initiation to finalization.
- Prepare probate documents with minimal supervision from the attorney.
- Maintain a detailed calendar of court pleadings and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with clients, financial institutions, and beneficiaries to collate necessary information.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries via email or phone.
- Prepare necessary documentation for the transfer of securities.
- File claims for insurance proceeds and death benefits.
- Manage all dimensions of estate administration, including asset identification, collection, and distribution.
- Act as a liaison among attorneys, clients, accountants, and financial professionals.
- Draft correspondence to creditors in instances of estate insolvency.
- Scan and organize all estate/trust administration documentation into electronic files.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong research and investigative abilities.
- Proficient in Office 365, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with practice management software.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Self-motivated with outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
- College Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.
- 2-5 years of experience in New Hampshire and Maine probate and trust administration.
- A background in banking or finance is advantageous.
- Notary Public certification is a plus.
- Professional attire and communication skills are essential.
