Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and prepare financial information, ensuring accurate entries in financial statements and reports, including verification of calculations and reconciliation of figures.
- Review budgets, revenue streams, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents, addressing discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, manage wire transfers, mortgage payments, and distributions, ensuring the correctness of all transactions.
- Assist in the formulation and upkeep of accounting control procedures, analyzing financial trends and recommending suitable budget levels to regulate expenditures.
- Support financial analysis related to property acquisitions, dispositions, and closings while tracking budgets and expenditures for various funding sources.
- Act as a point of contact for both internal and external auditors, providing essential data and explanations of journal entries during audits.
- Communicate effectively with on-site property managers to facilitate accounting processes and support the timely completion of reports and transactions.
- Complete financial, accounting, and administrative reports as required and undertake additional duties as necessary.
- Proficiency in utilizing internet tools, word processing software, spreadsheets, and databases to generate reports.
- Strong analytical abilities with familiarity in financial and property management systems (e.g., Yardi, OneSite, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting best practices and relevant regulations.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or a financial environment, demonstrating a solid understanding and application of GAAP.
- Proven capability to analyze financial data and prepare reports in accordance with accounting, finance, and budgeting principles.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adept at managing time efficiently while balancing multiple projects.
