As a Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will be integral to our Data Governance program, tasked with ensuring the quality, integrity, and usability of our data. Your expertise in clinical data and workflow will support the creation of innovative solutions that significantly impact healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced analytical insights for business operations utilizing Health Information Exchange (HIE) data.
- Independently analyze complex data sets with moderate supervision.
- Drive data quality enhancement initiatives by evaluating clinical data and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and data mining, presenting findings in accessible formats.
- Lead the establishment of standards for data, products, and service documentation.
- Define semantic mappings of clinical or administrative data to standardized reference terminology.
- Act as a subject matter expert in data standards and quality initiatives.
- Identify information gaps and propose actionable solutions.
- Leverage clinical data expertise to influence HIE tools, products, and services.
- Organize and perform product inspections and testing to ensure quality assurance.
- Collaborate with source systems and downstream data consumers to assess and mitigate data quality risks.
- Evaluate the business implications of data quality issues and recommend enhancements.
- Generate data quality reports based on established metrics.
- Advocate for behavioral changes within the organization regarding data management.
- Facilitate activities with vendor and client representatives to develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Maintain and expand professional and technical knowledge through ongoing learning and networking.
- Assist in training and education on data quality management program policies and standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong project management skills with experience in defining, planning, and organizing multiple complex projects.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with clinical workflows and information systems.
- Clinical background (RN, NP, PA) with experience in electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner).
- Understanding of state and federal quality payment and improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in HL7 standards and protocols.
- Experience in data management, data warehousing, and statistical analyses.
- Familiarity with MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Python.
- Knowledge of interoperability best practices and challenges.
- Experience with medical claims data formats and standard codes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint) and Visio.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and a critical thinker.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related clinical field.
- A Master’s degree in informatics is preferred.
- Formal certifications such as CPHQ, NI-BC, CBCS, CCS, CMIS, or NCCT are preferred.
- Experience in data analytics and systems evaluation is essential.
- Membership in informatics-related professional organizations is preferred.
