Key Responsibilities
- Client Communication: Foster strong communication with clients, advisors, opposing counsel, and judicial entities.
- Legal Research & Drafting: Conduct legal research and craft legal documents, including petitions, motions, pleadings, orders, and status reports. Oversee discovery processes and ensure that final outputs meet our rigorous standards.
- Representation: Advocate for clients in mediations, negotiations, depositions, and court proceedings across state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
- Strategic Counsel: Assist clients in evaluating their legal, financial, and tax scenarios, devising customized strategies to meet their objectives.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff, including associates and paralegals, ensuring adherence to best practices and maintaining exceptional work quality.
- Client Development: Lead discussions with potential clients to assess cases and propose appropriate legal services.
- Systems Management: Participate in optimizing workflows and policies to enhance team efficiency, including training staff on firm procedures and auditing compliance as necessary.
- Expertise in negotiating and assessing outcomes in bankruptcy situations.
- Proficient in determining lien priorities on real and personal property.
- Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.
- Minimum of two years of corporate transactional or litigation experience, preferably with 8 years in managing complex cases.
- Must possess a license to practice in Iowa or be eligible for waiver into Iowa. Attorneys licensed in Illinois are also welcome to apply.
- Specialized knowledge in bankruptcy, commercial law, agricultural law, and income tax is highly advantageous.
