Responsibilities & Duties
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger framework.
- Guarantee timely and precise reporting of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial data for assigned properties.
- Conduct monthly assessments of accounting transactions for designated entities.
- Collaborate with accounting and operations managers to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Respond to inquiries from ownership groups, regulatory agencies, and finance managers regarding financial outcomes and reporting requests.
- Assist in the year-end audit process.
- Carry out various accounting tasks, such as bank statement downloads, income and expense documentation, regulatory filings, and client-specific reporting.
- Support Accounting Supervisors and Management with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks, work efficiently under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- BA/BS in Business with a focus on Accounting is preferred; CPA is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, particularly in financial reporting and general ledger management, with a preference for experience in multi-family real estate, especially affordable housing.
