Title Abstractor - Remote (Work from Home)

Overview

Join our innovative team as a Title Abstractor, where your meticulous attention to detail and passion for real estate will directly contribute to enhancing the property closing process. In this pivotal role, you will analyze and interpret a variety of property records to ascertain ownership and highlight any potential issues, guaranteeing seamless transactions for our valued clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scrutinize, assess, and evaluate an extensive range of property documents, including deeds, mortgages, tax records, liens, and judgments.
  • Identify property ownership and detect any encumbrances or potential discrepancies.
  • Investigate chain of title to uncover any defects or inconsistencies.
  • Compile in-depth property reports and title commitments, summarizing your findings in a clear and professional manner.
  • Address any discrepancies or gaps in title documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys, realtors, lenders, and other stakeholders to share information and resolve title-related matters.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service by engaging with clients, addressing their inquiries, and providing timely updates.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an abstractor/examiner at an advanced level, with a strong emphasis on online search capabilities.
  • Commercial search experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of various state guidelines and online property tax jurisdiction searches.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accurate and professionally formatted title reports.
  • Sound judgment in managing confidential borrower data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary to accommodate client demands.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in title abstracting or examination.
  • Advanced-level online search proficiency is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
