Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to attorneys in all phases of torts and insurance defense litigation, from inception to resolution.
- Draft and review essential legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, subpoenas, and motions.
- Maintain organized case files, ensuring timely updates and adherence to deadlines.
- Conduct legal research and compile pertinent case law and relevant statutes.
- Oversee the discovery process, which includes document collection, review, and production.
- Summarize medical records, depositions, and other key documentation.
- Assist in trial preparation, including the creation of exhibits, trial binders, and witness lists.
- Liaise with clients, experts, and witnesses to coordinate interviews, depositions, and meetings.
- Monitor court deadlines and ensure compliance with applicable legal protocols.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and maintaining case calendars.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
- Strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven multitasking skills with the capacity to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
- Educational Background: Associate's degree or higher in Paralegal Studies or a related field; paralegal certification preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in tort and insurance defense litigation.
