Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of network engineers, system administrators, and voice engineers to support a wide-ranging regional network.
- Manage and maintain networks using primarily Cisco routers and switches, with additional support for other vendors like KLAS, DTech, F5, Palo Alto, Symantec, and Citrix.
- Oversee layer 3 routing and layer 2 switching, ensuring smooth network operations.
- Design and implement complex routing and switching schemes to support Control Cryptographic HAIPE devices.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and support various network devices, including firewalls, load balancers, and network encryption devices.
- Configure devices following security policies and develop IP address schemes for all assigned networks.
- Manage circuit provisioning and coordinate testing and activation with external entities.
- Monitor network capacity and utilization, providing trending and capacity planning services.
- Program switching fabric for control panel functionality according to current architectures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network faults or outages and provide support remotely, by phone, or in person.
- Perform site surveys, configuration, engineering, and documentation for all network services.
- Analyze network protocols, routing standards, and data flow to recommend equipment implementation and upgrades.
- A current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- A Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, or an Associate's degree with additional experience.
- Experience in designing and maintaining LANs and WANs, with a strong understanding of LAN/WAN protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
- Current DoD 8140 Cybersecurity Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security ).
- Professional-level certification in Network Technology (e.g., CCNP, JNCP).
- Extensive knowledge of both Enterprise and Data Center networks, with excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with client managers and system users.
- Familiarity with USSTRATCOM and Department of Defense Military standards.
- Strong analytical skills and adaptability to changing needs.
