Position: Senior Environmental Permit Manager - Remote

Overview

We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Permit Manager with comprehensive expertise in California’s environmental permitting and regulatory landscape. This pivotal role will be instrumental in ensuring adherence to both state and federal environmental regulations, such as the California Endangered Species Act, CDFW Lake/Streambed Alteration Agreements, and the Porter-Cologne Act. The successful candidate will exhibit a robust background in managing the permitting process and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders to fulfill environmental compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead and supervise the environmental permitting process in California, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Serve as the principal liaison with state and federal agencies to facilitate the acquisition of permits and uphold compliance standards.
  • Offer expert insights on environmental regulatory matters, assisting project teams in navigating complex permitting challenges.

Required Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of California's environmental permitting and regulatory frameworks.
  • Profound understanding of critical legislation, including the California Endangered Species Act, CDFW agreements, and the Porter-Cologne Act.
  • Superior communication and negotiation abilities, with a proven track record of effective collaboration with government agencies and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental roles, specifically focused on permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Law, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
