Key Responsibilities
- Deliver vital care and transport services to patients requiring Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Specialty/Critical Care (SCT), in accordance with established protocols.
- Execute necessary medical interventions within your designated scope of practice.
- Prepare thorough patient care reports (PCRs) documenting all facets of patient care and transportation.
- Maintain the cleanliness and professionalism of your appearance while ensuring the ambulance and equipment are operational.
- Utilize ALS/SCT equipment effectively, such as IV pumps, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
- Complete daily vehicle and supply inspections and maintain the cosmetic condition of your assigned ambulance.
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill transport requests safely and efficiently.
- Communicate professionally with the communications center and fellow team members.
- Adhere to institutional policies and safety practices, and complete mandatory training and continuing education.
- Uphold respect and positivity in all interactions, representing the organization admirably.
- Maryland Paramedic certification (with the willingness to pursue DC Paramedic certification).
- Current and valid CPR certification.
- Current and valid national certification.
- Current and valid ACLS/PALS certifications.
- Experience in inter-facility transport is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a favorable driving record (for drivers).
- EVOC certification or an equivalent qualification (for ALS unit drivers).
- Ability to safely lift 150 lbs and navigate stretchers in various environments.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and teamwork.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in Paramedicine.
