Manufacturing Cost Accountant

Job Overview

We are actively seeking a meticulous and analytical Cost Accountant to join our esteemed manufacturing team. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret transactions within the ERP system to assess their effect on overall financial performance.
• Supervise the creation and maintenance of Item Masters, Bills of Materials (B.O.M.), and Production Routings.
• Assess Work In Progress to ensure precise allocation of labor and materials, including proactive variance analysis related to material usage and purchase pricing.
• Execute month-end closing procedures and perform reconciliations of General Ledger accounts.
• Monitor capital expenditures and assist with monthly depreciation calculations.
• Oversee inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, standard cost adjustments, discrepancy resolution, and the annual physical inventory process.
• Generate and present financial reports, cost analysis, and additional management reports.
• Ensure data accuracy within the ERP system, providing support for all departments as needed.
• Collaborate with teams in Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to gather data, analyze cost drivers, and implement cost-saving strategies.
• Provide mentorship and support to the finance team.
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience in the manufacturing sector.
• Comprehensive understanding of ERP systems and their cost accounting functionalities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, or analogous analytics platforms (preferred).
• Capability to read and write M or SQL code (preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to precision.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.
• Availability for overtime during month-end closures.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related area.
• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, particularly in a manufacturing context.
• Experience with ERP systems and analytical tools is advantageous.

• Competitive Salary: \(90,000 - \)105,000 annually.
