Key Responsibilities
- Deliver vital support and intervention strategies to youth in foster care at risk of placement instability due to behavioral health needs.
- Engage in structured and developmental activities aligned with the individual treatment plans of each youth.
- Assist clients in acquiring and enhancing daily living and social skills crucial for their independence.
- Provide support for daily living tasks as necessary, fostering self-sufficiency.
- Equip clients with problem-solving skills to navigate everyday life challenges effectively.
- Facilitate transportation and accompany clients to appointments and activities as needed.
- Offer services in both individual and group settings, tailoring approaches to meet the distinctive needs of each client.
- Complete all requisite training to become a Medicaid-approved Behavioral Interventionist specialist and fulfill agency training requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with the youth’s placement provider and case manager to coordinate schedules and session frequency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are essential.
- Availability during evenings and some weekends is necessary, with flexible scheduling based on children’s needs.
- Preferred experience in healthcare or welfare services, particularly working with clients facing complex mental health issues at risk of hospitalization.
