We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Coder Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team remotely. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about precision in coding and eager to contribute their skills in a fast-paced environment where they can make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits of client accounts to ensure accuracy in coding, adherence to regulations, and optimal reimbursement strategies.
- Facilitate engaging virtual training sessions for staff on coding and billing guidelines specific to clients.
- Communicate identified quality issues and opportunities for improvement to relevant management and team leaders.
- Serve as an advocate for clients by addressing their quality assurance needs and collaborating on coding and documentation practices.
- Educate clients on updates to policies and procedures.
- Minimum of two (2) years of coding experience, specifically in multi-specialty settings (Internal Medicine preferred).
- Experience in outpatient/clinic billing is essential.
- Strong understanding of MIPS reporting and medical billing systems.
- In-depth knowledge of coding methodologies, including state and federal billing regulations.
- Proficiency in current multi-specialty CPT-4, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding standards.
- Ability to create and deliver effective training programs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with physicians and support staff effectively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and report writing systems.
- Access to transportation for potential client visits.
- High School diploma or GED required; a college degree is preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant coding experience with a focus on multi-specialty and outpatient billing.
