Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Perform medication assessments and provide ongoing pharmacologic treatment.
- Engage in incident reviews as necessary.
- Contribute to treatment planning and participate in case conferences.
- Make accurate diagnoses and formulate personalized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness.
- Deliver routine follow-up care to patients, adapting treatments as required.
- Maintain detailed documentation regarding each patient’s diagnosis, symptoms, medication, and treatment progress.
- Provide emotional support and coping strategies to assist patients in managing their conditions.
- Keep abreast of recent developments in the field of psychiatry and mental health.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical institution.
- A minimum of three years’ psychiatric experience, including supervised residency training.
- Certification and licensure from the NYS Board of Psychiatry.
- Current DEA registration.
- Exceptional diagnostic abilities and a thorough understanding of current DSM criteria.
- Proficient in crisis assessment tools and techniques.
- Strong foundational knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- MD degree from an accredited medical school.
- At least three years of supervised psychiatric experience within a residency program.
- Valid New York State Board of Psychiatry certification and license.
- Current DEA registration.
