Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with channel category business managers to secure customer commitments for transitioning purchases to negotiated supplier programs, thus achieving cost efficiencies and enhancing margins.
- Manage the supplier network to deliver optimal value and support for our clients, ensuring competitive offerings and an exceptional service experience.
- Identify avenues for cost reduction while simultaneously boosting preferred supplier sales and overall company revenue.
- Develop insightful, data-driven category strategies that yield robust financial outcomes.
- Establish pricing benchmarks and engage in negotiations with suppliers to guarantee competitive positioning across various business segments.
- Work closely with the customer culinary team and supplier partners to offer informed product recommendations based on quality, value, yield, and application.
- Oversee the implementation of new contracts or program modifications across departments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to assigned categories.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, facilitating onboarding and career growth opportunities.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to category performance.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to drive savings for our customers.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management or customer account management.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with comprehensive aspects of the supply chain, showcasing a holistic business perspective.
- Proficiency in analyzing complex data sets with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong networking capabilities and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and senior-level influence.
- Excellent influencing and presentation abilities.
- A positive outlook, adaptability, optimism, resourcefulness, and transparency in communication.
