The position of a Mechanical Designer focuses on creating energy compliance reports for both residential and commercial projects, ensuring full compliance with California Title 24 standards. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Title 24 energy regulations, with structural drafting experience being a plus. Occasional site visits are required to verify as-built conditions.
Tasks:
- Create Title 24 energy compliance reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to California energy standards for residential and commercial projects
- Use energy compliance software to perform calculations and analyze project data
- Coordinate Title 24-related issues with peers, principal engineers, and other departments
- Communicate Title 24 compliance concerns with clients and/or the client relations department
- Perform on-site assessments of as-built conditions when required
- Train newly hired engineers on Title 24 compliance processes and software tools
- Maintain accurate logs of hours worked and time off using the office time clock management system
- Assist with light office duties when requested
- Manage project information with the office CRM and/or project management system
- Maintain project schedules and ensure compliance deadlines are met
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
- Proven experience in Title 24 energy compliance for both residential and commercial projects
- Advanced knowledge of energy compliance software; structural drafting experience is a plus
- Ability to identify complex problems and develop energy-efficient solutions
