The position of a Mechanical Designer focuses on creating energy compliance reports for both residential and commercial projects, ensuring full compliance with California Title 24 standards. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Title 24 energy regulations, with structural drafting experience being a plus. Occasional site visits are required to verify as-built conditions.

Tasks:

  • Create Title 24 energy compliance reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to California energy standards for residential and commercial projects
  • Use energy compliance software to perform calculations and analyze project data
  • Coordinate Title 24-related issues with peers, principal engineers, and other departments
  • Communicate Title 24 compliance concerns with clients and/or the client relations department
  • Perform on-site assessments of as-built conditions when required
  • Train newly hired engineers on Title 24 compliance processes and software tools
  • Maintain accurate logs of hours worked and time off using the office time clock management system
  • Assist with light office duties when requested
  • Manage project information with the office CRM and/or project management system
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure compliance deadlines are met

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
  • Proven experience in Title 24 energy compliance for both residential and commercial projects
  • Advanced knowledge of energy compliance software; structural drafting experience is a plus
  • Ability to identify complex problems and develop energy-efficient solutions
