Location: Rock Hill Schools | 386 E. Black Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 (Exact school TBD)
Position Type: In-Person, Full-Time
Dates: Immediate Start - May 27, 2025
Daily Hours: 8 hours per day (with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a self-contained elementary classroom serving students with intellectual disabilities. This role is ideal for a compassionate educator committed to creating a supportive and structured learning environment tailored to each student's needs.
Qualifications:
- Required: South Carolina Certification in Multi-Categorical Special Education
- Other Certifications: Emotional Disabilities (ED), Mental Disabilities (MD), Educable Mentally Disabled (EMD), or Trainable Mentally Disabled (TMD) considered
- Experience in self-contained classroom settings preferred
Responsibilities Include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborating with other educators, support staff, and families to support each student's growth
- Providing instruction and behavioral support in line with best practices for intellectual disabilities
