Position Summary
Gettysburg College is seeking a part time / casual Building Inspector (~20 hours per week / NTE 1000 hrs / yr). Hours and days may vary in accordance with the needs of the Department to include weekends, holidays, events, and required training.The Building Inspector performs a variety of fire and life safety activities to include fire alarm system checks, testing, and service, fire extinguisher monthly checks, yearly hydro-testing, and service, building inspections, fire safety and prevention programs, fire / evacuation drills, sprinkler testing, ADA access points, emergency egress maps, eye wash stations, emergency phones, improper storage, blocked means of egress, and other life safety issues. Training will be provided.
Salary Level : $17.50 per hourStatus : Part Time
Qualifications Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong personal integrity and reliability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to interact with others in a manner consistent with the high ideals of integrity, leadership, and respect.
- Willingness and ability to engage with the public and Gettysburg College’s diverse student population with a focus on community and customer service.
- Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one at time of hire.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Preferred Qualifications :
Clery Act Statement : This position meets the Clery Act definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). The incumbent is expected to faithfully execute the responsibilities of this role in full compliance with law. The Incumbent shall complete annual CSA training as assigned by the Clery Compliance Coordinator.
