What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial 1A /Full-time position at Gettysburg Foundation?
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition and perform routine maintenance activities.
- Scrub, sanitize, supply, and maintain restroom facilities.
- Gather and empty trash and recyclables.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
- Dust furniture, walls, pictures, ledges, and exhibits.
- Follow established procedures/techniques for use of chemicals.
- Follow procedures to safely operate and maintain equipment used to perform job duties to prevent injury.
- Wash windows/glass within reach.
- Clean refrigerators.
- Help manage inventory of supplies.
- Safely operate custodial golf cart to perform custodial duties on the property.
- Follow all safety procedures to protect employees and visitors.
- Follow all Gettysburg Foundation and Custodial department policies.
EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the position.
- Ability to learn equipment use and maintenance.
- Ability to maintain logs and records.
- Sensitivity to historical facilities and artifacts and their care.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE WORKPLACE:
- Ability to lift 20lbs or greater.
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
- Ability to lift, carry, climb, sit.
- Ability to bend, stretch, walk and be on your feet the greater part of the day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
