What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long-Term Substitute: Elementary Teacher position at Gettysburg Montessori Charter School?
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required for this Long-Term Substitute Teacher
- Has completed all appropriate background checks as required by law, including, but not limited to: criminal history report, PA child abuse clearance, and FBI background check
- Responsibilities: The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
- The long-term substitute is responsible for teaching and covering the duties of a teacher who is absent for an extended period of time.
- Write lesson plans, conduct parent-teacher meetings, assessments, and grading.
- The long-term substitute works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during his/her absence.
- Work effectively with other staff members in the interdisciplinary setting to address students’ needs
- Instruct individuals and groups at appropriate developmental levels, implementing IEP goals and objectives
- Follow the “natural” consequence belief and confidentiality of student management issues in accordance with school’s policies and procedures
- Observe children of concern and report to CEO/principal or Assistant Principal
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration in accordance with school policies and practices
- Ability to meet timelines
