Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Personal Care Assistant (Elementary Students)
Use only the strategies and behavior charts/incentives determined by the psychologist, teacher, or administration/designee.
GMCS administrative team to help student meet goals. Only assist the student you are assigned to.
Assist a student in self-sufficiency, communication, interpersonal, social, academic, transitions, mobility skills and possibly toileting needs.
Verbally or nonverbally, redirect student to help with focus, to attend to a task or to avoid escalation.
If needed, assist assigned student with fine and/or gross motor skills and/or assist student on/off van or bus.
If needed, under teacher’s approval, escort the student to nurse, counselor, or for a walk.
REQUIREMENTS:
Prefer two years of college.
Must complete professional development as directed by GMCS.
Appropriate criminal records check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 29 per week
