What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Technician position at GF Blends?
GF Blends has been serving the gluten free community for over 13 years. As a member of the food production team, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude and a solution-oriented mindset, to produce quality mixes and blends for our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a team mindset and understand that following our food manufacturing process is what delivers high quality products to our customers. This position will have you work many roles in the production process, from measuring small batch ingredients, to packaging, boxing, and preparing shipments of completed food products.
On-the-job training will prepare you to operate our manufacturing equipment. This position is labor intensive, physically demanding, and repetitive. You will be on your feet and lifting up to 50 lb bags of ingredients. It requires focused attention to detail, a willingness to learn, being able to follow processes & directions, which change from product to product, as well as direction from the production manager and the owner.

Responsibilities for This Position
- Be on time for each shift.
- Be honest and hard working.
- Work effectively as a team to fill each role in the production process (roles rotate throughout each shift).
- Work with food production machinery such as hoppers, sifters, bag fillers, bag sealers, etc.
- Follow all company policies and SQF & FSMA (food safety) requirements including personal hygiene requirements. *We are a tobacco free facility and campus. No tobacco products are allowed and smoking is prohibited.
- Implement and use record keeping according to SQF & FSMA requirements.
- Communicate with the rest of the production line to ensure procedures are followed.
- Follow directions from the production manager and owner, and collaborate with the team to deliver quality products on a daily and weekly basis.
- Follow Pre and Post Production Standards and checklists carefully.
- Attend weekly staff and safety meetings.
- Complete training on different procedures and processes on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Loading and unloading pallets.
- Follow Cleaning Procedures before and after each shift.
- More may be required or assigned.
- 1 Day a week will be dedicated to cleaning the facility.
Requirements for This Position
- Must be able to move about in the processing areas and be able to do the following: lift and carry 50-60 pounds, stand and walk for sustained periods; climb stairs and ladders (6-8 feet in the air); bend; reach; push; pull, and enter trucks.
- We are a tobacco free facility, and we do not allow smoking on the premises as per requirements in food manufacturing procedures and laws.
- Meet daily and weekly production goals set as a team, to keep production on time, and meet our team's deadlines for client delivery.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be a US Citizen or have Work Authorization.
- Must have reliable transportation and be punctual.
- Must be able to read and write at a high school level.
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and Food Safety is a plus.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.13 - $18.13 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
