Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Supervisor for our RFE (Request for Evidence) Legal Team to oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with company standards, and lead a team of legal professionals in delivering high-quality responses to RFEs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for actively working on RFEs, training, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) and human resources (HR) procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Supervision & Management: Oversee, alongside the RFE Supervisor/Operations Manager, the RFE legal team and ensure that all requests for evidence are handled timely, efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with legal and Firm standards.
- Training & Development: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs in conjunction with the Legal Training Division and Legal Trainer for team members to ensure consistent knowledge of legal procedures, best practices, and Firm expectations.
- Performance Monitoring: Track individual and team performance against established KPIs, providing support, coaching and corrective action as needed.
- Quality Control: Support Quality Control Division as needed to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to legal and regulatory/Firm standards. Provide 1:1 feedback sessions if needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement strategies for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the RFE process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including HR, compliance, and legal teams, to streamline processes and improve response quality.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of RFE responses, team performance, and any compliance-related issues.
- Issue Resolution: Address challenges or escalations within the team and provide solutions to improve workflow and output quality.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in law, legal studies, or a related field, paralegal certification or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an immigration/legal setting, with direct experience handling RFEs.
- At least 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a legal or compliance-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian immigration law and RFE processes.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a high-volume immigration law firm or corporate legal department.
- Knowledge of USCIS policies and procedures.
- Experience with HR procedures and compliance standards in a legal environment.
Work Environment:
- This position requires the ability to work in a professional office setting.
- Hybrid or in-office work may be required based on company policies.
- Occasional overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines.
