Your tasks
- The Facility Maintenance Technician II is responsible for ensuring the functionality and safety of the building infrastructure by performing advanced maintenance and repair tasks. This role involves troubleshooting and fixing issues with electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other building equipment, including work on electrical systems with multiple range of voltage up to 480V.
- Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
- Maintains and repairs electrical systems, including handling issues in multiple ranges of voltage up to 480V, in compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
- Conducts routine inspections of the facility to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Performs preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend the life of building systems.
- Collaborates with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects as needed.
- Responds promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Assists with facility improvement projects, including installing or upgrading systems and infrastructure.
- Assists with training lower-level Facility Maintenance Technicians and Manufacturing Maintenance Technicians to effectively troubleshoot.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical (multiple ranges of voltage up to 480V).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Ability to read and use wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical/electronic problems.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a variety of tools and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across multiple systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for electrical, HVAC, and general facility maintenance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
- Ability to be On-call for emergency repairs when needed.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical certification in electrical, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in facility maintenance or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience working with electrical systems of multiple ranges of voltage up to 480V is required.
- Certified electrician preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
- Exposure to machine noise.
- Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production area.
- Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
- Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
- This role may require walking in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
