GENERAL SUMMARY:
This is an hourly position that reports to the Shift Quality Control Supervisor. Primarily responsible for performing various audits of production lane start up and final inspections. Responsible for GMP audits; pre-op check and line clearance at start-up and change-over. Responsible for reporting and documenting product non-conformance. Assists in the resolution of quality related issues.
SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION
- Responsible for Line Clearance, verifying that lines are clear prior to startup.
- Perform equipment swabbing after sanitation.
- Perform quality audits for each production line throughout the shift.
- Document the in-line process check results for each production run per pre-approved specifications.
- Report any OOS (Out of Specification) or non-conformance to the Production and QC Supervisor.
- Ensure that immediate corrective action is completed before start-up for any non-conformance.
- Ensure that products that are non-compliant are properly labeled and stored in designated area, following MRB process.
- Perform periodic quality and GMP audits of the production area, focus at the mix deck to ensure product handling compliance.
- Perform audits of ingredients that are staged for manufacturing, ensure that no expired materials are used.
- Perform temperature audits of ingredients, WIP, and finished product while in production stage.
- Prepare Shift report for next shift follow up.
- Perform case counts audits on all products.
- Perform daily Pre-operational Inspection.
- Assist in metal detector validations, regular in-process metal detector line checks.
- Ensure operators follow metal detector SOP.
- Report any Food Safety Risk to Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have at least 3 years of related experience in Quality Control in Food Processing/Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work well with other departments.
- Good math abilities, good communications and computer skills, especially spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Strong decision-making skills, and calm under stressful situations.
