Microbiology Tech I

Job Summary:
The Microbiology Technician will prepare laboratory media and solutions, operate autoclaves, and conduct microbial enumeration. Responsibilities include data analysis, reporting results, and ensuring accurate calculations. The ideal candidate must be highly alert, detail-oriented, and possess strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Training flexibility and the ability to communicate data effectively are essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare laboratory media, solutions, and pH solutions.
- Operate autoclaves and plate/enumerate microbes.
- Perform data analysis, fill out reports, and maintain spreadsheets.
- Assist technicians with sample collection, in-process testing, and finished product testing.
- Conduct water collection and testing, record observations, and perform calculations.
- Support lab functions, including stocking, distributing supplies, and maintaining glassware.
Job Qualifications:
- Associate degree with at least 2 years of lab experience (college lab work acceptable) or a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or Food Science.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience (recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates encouraged to apply).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to multitask.
- Experience with aseptic techniques and a microbiology background.
- Previous lab experience preferred.
Shift times:
- Two 3rd shift positions available
- Sun-Wed 10 PM - 8:30 AM
- Wed-Sat 6 PM- 4:30 AM
