Job Summary:
As a Research Associate in the Nucleic Acid Delivery, Formulations & Bioanalysis department, you will become a part of a multinational and diverse team consisting of fellow Laboratory Technicians, Specialists/Scientists, and a global department manager. The goal of the team is to develop synthetic/non-viral nanomedicines, apply advanced analytical characterization techniques, and translate these to preclinical and clinical studies through internal and external collaborations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Regularly formulate and characterize lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) loaded with nucleic acids at small to mid-scale using microfluidics, ensuring reproducibility and scalability of the process while maintaining high product quality and consistency.
- Conduct freeze-drying studies to evaluate the stability of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations, including assessing critical formulation parameters and optimizing freeze-drying cycles for maximum stability and efficacy of the final product.
- Communicate findings internally to the team via presentations and written reports.
- Independently plan, execute, and document experiments.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR high school diploma with 8 years of relevant experience OR Associate or Vocational degree with 4 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
- Relevant experience can be a combination of industry and academic experience and should include:
- Hands-on experience in formulating lipid nanoparticles at small to mid-scale using microfluidics.
- Hands-on experience in characterizing lipid nanoparticles loaded with nucleic acids (e.g., Ribogreen, DLS).
- Hands-on experience in lyophilization of lipid nanoparticles.
- Experience with analytical methods, including biophysical methods like dynamic light scattering (DLS), fluorescent-based assays (e.g., Ribogreen/PicoGreen), chromatography, pH, etc.
- Ability to independently operate good lab maintenance and equipment SOPs.
- Experience with automation.
Terms
- 12 month contract
- On-site in Lexington, MA
- Pay rate: $32-32/HR, $64,000-70,000 annually based on experience
