GFP Enterprises is an emergency response company focused on wildland fire suppression, remote base camp, and catastrophe management solutions. We are looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant (Payroll & HR) to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks in support of our Payroll and HR Dept. managers in our Salem office.
The ideal candidate should be well rounded and possess the ability to onboard employees; investigate, document and navigate Human Resource complaints; while also having the skill set to assist with payroll processing. The candidate must be detail oriented, have a great attitude and be flexible working in an ever changing environment. Familiarity with platforms like ADP/QuickBooks and/or database experience would be helpful, but not necessary. Candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools, like MS Excel and office equipment. Responsibilities
- Assist with day to day office duties
- Assist with Hiring Process (new hire paperwork)
- Assist / Provide support at annual training classes
- Provide clerical support with payroll
- Provide basic HR support
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
- Develop and maintain a filing system / employee records (training / HR Files)
- Maintain contact lists / call new and existing employees / answer phones
- Liaise with executive and senior level managers to handle requests and queries
Skills
- Flexibility and willingness to learn
- Proven experience as an office admin assistant (will train someone with great attitude)
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and Google sheets in particular)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- High School degree; additional qualification as an Administrative assistant or Secretary will be a plus
- Special consideration will be made for applicants who have a background in Human Resources, Payroll and/or wildland fire.
Salary $42K to $45K DOE. $3K pay increase after satisfactory completion of first 6 months employment. GFP is an EOE. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401K with matching and PTO after 90 day probationary period.
