Internship Overview:
Are you ready to gain hands-on experience with a major consumer packaged goods (CPG) company supporting one of the world's largest retailers? The Gorilla Glue Company seeks a motivated and analytical Summer Intern to join our dedicated Walmart Sales Team based in Bentonville, AR. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of CPG sales, retail replenishment strategies, and data analysis within a dynamic and supportive environment. You will contribute directly to the team responsible for managing our business relationship with Walmart.
What you’ll learn!
Sales Support:
- Assist the Walmart sales team with preparing presentations, business reviews, and meeting materials.
- Help track promotional performance and competitor activity at Walmart.
- Support new item setup processes and documentation.
- Gain exposure to sales strategies specific to the Walmart account.
Replenishment Support:
- Monitor inventory levels and sales data using retailer-specific systems (e.g., exposure to Walmart's Retail Link).
- Assist in identifying potential out-of-stock issues or overstock situations and communicate findings to the team.
- Support the analysis of forecast accuracy and order patterns.
- Learn about the supply chain dynamics between manufacturers and major retailers.
Analysis & Reporting:
- Utilize point-of-sale (POS) data and other sources to analyze sales trends, promotional effectiveness, and category performance.
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Excel reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in identifying insights and making data-driven recommendations to the sales team.
- Support ad-hoc data requests and analysis projects.
Collaboration & Learning:
- Actively participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members as needed.
- Complete a potential summer project focused on a specific business challenge or opportunity related to the Walmart account.
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program, preferably pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Analytics, or a related field. (Typically rising Junior or Senior).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, charting), is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
