What are the responsibilities and job description for the GGC Dispatcher position at GG&C Bus Company?
SUMMARY
Key staffing personnel who receive and greet customers and guests at the business establishment, either by phone or in person determine the nature of their business, and direct callers. Maintain daily communications with all route and activity drivers while scheduled routes are being driven for school and communicate and scheduled trips with drivers for dispatch. Coordinates all bus movements while actively participating in the positive team environment overseen by the Location Manager. Other key job duties will include accounting calculations and timely reporting of activity trips, payroll, and hours of service; updating route narratives; equipment coordination; and additional tasks delegated by the location manager.
Responsibilities
- Respond to charter quotes via phone, email, and/or web
- Develop an understanding of the buses/vans in our fleet
- Develop an understanding of the employee's specific classifications
- Ensure that trips are scheduled on vehicles that meet specifications
- Ensure that trips are scheduled with driver that meet specifications
- Ensure a working relationship with dispatch to ensure coverage of charters
- Must be willing to obtain school bus license and endorsements
- Must be willing to perform other tasks as deemed necessary by management
- Operates multi-line central answering telephone console to receive incoming messages. Make future appointments and answer inquiries. Maintain daily phone log recording time of day, caller's name and basic information related to the call.
- Types of memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents. Collects and distributes mail and messages.
