Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and dosage instructions
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Prepare and serve meals based on dietary restrictions and individual preferences
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including accompanying individuals to appointments or community outings
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and prevent challenging behaviors
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for individuals in accordance with established standards
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and ability to accurately follow medication schedules
- Understanding of behavior management techniques and ability to implement strategies to promote positive behaviors
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and other team members
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules
