Materials Coordinator
Matalco in Franklin, KY is a growing aluminum remelt facility, utilizing state of the art technology in our processes. We are looking for a motivated team player to join our Logistics Team.
Our selected candidate will direct the raw material process flow to ensure safety, material cost, quality, and production goals are achieved. The incumbent will develop optimal methods to determine the lowest cost raw material forecast and work with both receiving and production teams to ensure material consumption meets objectives. The incumbent will also assist in coordinating deliveries to key customers in an effort to exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule incoming shipments of raw materials, coordinating with suppliers to ensure availability of materials for our Production Team.
Generate and distribute necessary paperwork and reports, including delivery notices and inspection sheets, according to department expectations to ensure correct raw materials are received.
Collect, enter, track, analyze, reconcile, and report data inputs from multiple sources to ensure accurate and readily accessible data for the Logistics Department and our supply base.
Conduct regular inventory cycle counts to maintain accuracy and material identification for profiles. Maintain alloy blending system and Least Cost Charging (ABS/LCC).
Report and resolve (when applicable) shipment deviations, discrepancies or non-conforming material, based upon departmental procedures so that the Materials Team can make corrections and/or adjustments to processes or pricing as necessary.
Comply with all safety rules and company procedures, modeling safe work practices.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Degree in supply chain management or equivalent experience
3-5 years progressive materials planning, schedule, or other relevant experience
Ability to work independently under tight schedules and high expectations of excellent
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, CSCP, CPIM
Strong understanding of production processes and raw material needs
Understanding of commodity/metal pricing
Keen attention to detail
Proven ability research, analyze, and resolve problems
Demonstrated collaborative communication skills
Ability to work overtime as needed
Physical & Sensory Efforts
Frequent visual monitoring of materials processes, including inspection, scrap segregation, and inventory levels. High frequency of data entry and report generation for materials processing information. Moderate frequent walking and standing through the plant and materials area. Low frequency travel to other Matalco locations and third-party vendors.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment up to 60% of the time. The remainder of time will be spent throughout the plant with occasional time outside. Low frequency exposure to extreme ambient temperatures, depending upon the season. Low frequency exposure to possible pinch points, loud noise, and dust.
