Company Overview:
GGS Information Services, a globally recognized technical publications company serving leading manufacturers in transportation, aerospace, construction and agricultural equipment, has an immediate need for qualified candidates to fill a Logistics Engineer working in the Sterling Heights, Michigan area.
Primary Duties & Functions:
- Exercise Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Maintainability signoff authority on Change Requests/Engineering Change Proposals, drawings and models going through the Configuration Change Board and design approval processes.
- Develop maintainability factors, allocations/predictions for new concepts/designs.
- Create and develop a LORA (Level of Repair Analysis), FEMCA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis), RAM Data (Repair and Maintenance), Provisioning, and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA)
- Create and develop Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) reports.
- Develop maintainability and supportability requirement inputs to design specifications, trade studies and tradeoff analysis.
- Assess emerging design for requirements compliance and recommend design alternatives to enhance supportability and maintainability.
- Identify materials in customer inventory to serve as an alternative to new design.
- Design/develop special tools for field use. Develop Change Requests and Engineering Change Proposals for ILS areas of responsibility in the technical data packages.
- Perform analyses and computer modeling to support "repair/retrofit verses discard" and repair level decisions and to develop/assess alternate support/maintenance concepts.
- Translate engineering and other technical information into source data for ILS material developers.
- Investigate customer inquiries and provide responses and materials.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Hands on experience in maintenance and support of complex systems in a military environment.
- Experience in development of maintainability allocations and predictions for use in the systems engineering process.
- Familiar with US military logistics support structure, policies and procedures, preferably experience with GEIA-STD-0007 and MIL STD 1388 specifications.
- Personal computer skills (competent with MS Office applications) and must be familiar with Compass, Powerlog, and SLICwave software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Occasional short-term travel required.
- Must be a US citizen.
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
