JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Fabrication job family ensures an environment of continuous improvement exists in the organizations production processes, operating procedures, and work flows in order to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction. General areas of responsibility include ensuring smooth production flow and perform product inspections. The clerk will be responsible for preparing shipments and shipping documentation, processing material receipts, and facilitating material movement between processes and facilities.
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is accountable for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for outgoing product shipments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Prepare paperwork for shipments (BOL, manifest, dock audits, ect) ensuring product
identification matches in terms of weight, piece counts, identified parts, packaging
requirements, and method of delivery.
2. Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and
rates.
3. Accurately create labels and shipping paperwork (BOL, manifest, dock audits, ect) and
affix shipping labels on packaged product.
4. Operate forklift to move product/shipments.
5. Record the proper information on required process paperwork, charts, check lists, or
other control sheets.
6. Upload shipping related documentation to systems and file any hardcopies as needed to
ensure compliance.
7. Maintains a professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external
customers and represents the organization in a positive manner.
8. Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
9. Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all
safety policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
10. Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.
JOB-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Strong sense of time organization and urgency
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
· Experience in shipping/receiving preferred.
· Excellent communication skills with problem solving abilities.
· Attention to detail and follows instructions.
· Knowledge of products and services of the company.
· Must be organized and be able to multi-task in a professional and efficient manner.
· Basic Math Skills and understanding of blueprints is required.
· Basic Knowledge in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/ ENVIRONMENT:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent lifting of 50 lbs. and using team lift assist. Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pulling, walking, and standing for the entirety of work shift. Must have communicable range of hearing and sight with or without the use of aids. Requires exposure to a typical fabrication area where environment is affected by outside temperatures and machines.
ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $18.75 per hour
