ABOUT US : Since 1978, GHA Autism Supports has served individuals from across North Carolina with Autism Spectrum Disorder. GHA offers a number of services for individuals with autism. GHA Autism Supports has grown from an organization serving five children to an organization that currently supports nearly 100 individuals in over multiple programs providing residential, vocational, educational, community and in-home services.
Our latest program, Morrow Valley Farmstead, will provide specialized services for aging individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities with a focus on age related developmental and physical needs, and care for chronic and / or debilitating medical conditions. Morrow Valley Farmstead is a state of the art 10-bed home located in Albemarle, NC creating specialized long-term care for aging individuals with ASD and developmental disabilities that also have serious medical conditions.
With the addition of Morrow Valley Farmstead, GHA Autism Supports is seeking qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The primary responsibility of the LPN is to provide nursing care to individuals served by GHA. The LPN is to participate in the implementation and evaluation of individuals' care. The LPN is responsible for ensuring the health, comfort and safety of individuals. The right candidates for these positions will be flexible, motivated and self-directed in providing care to people with autism. Hours for the position may vary, and may require daytime, evening, holiday, and / or weekend availability.
QUALIFICATIONS : Current license to practice as a LPN. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (such as gloves, goggles, gowns, and masks) is sometimes required due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and / or blood and body fluids. Requires extensive clinical experience. Valid Driver’s License required . Must be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing the essential job duties. Ability to deal with stress and behaviors associated with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, which requires intense one on one contact and management. Must have the ability to operate and navigate a personal computer. Must have the ability to work well with others, show a positive attitude, and maintain confidentiality. Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and be at least 18 years of age.
COMPENSATION : Starting pay is dependent on candidate's qualifications, education level and relevant experience.
